Description
This National Postal Meter U.S. M1 Carbine is a desirable World War II-era example chambered in .30 Carbine. Receiver serial number 1489859 falls within National Postal Meter’s early wartime production range and is paired with an Underwood barrel dated 8-43, complete with the visible Ordnance Department flaming-bomb marking. National Postal Meter was one of the less common prime contractors, producing approximately 413,000 carbines during World War II.
The carbine is presented in very good overall condition with a glossy walnut sporting-style stock, adjustable rear sight, protected front sight, detachable magazine, and green web sling. The metal retains a strong dark finish with handling and operational wear appropriate for its age. The serial number marked on the stock is reported to match the receiver.
